Title: Problems of Practice in Secondary Math Classrooms: Exemplars for Student Teachers and Supervisors

Students in Phase 1 of Student Teaching identify a problem of practice in their placement setting and seek to address the problem in multiple iterations of inquiry that includes a 5-step process: posing, exploring, planning, enacting, and reflecting.  The instructor developed a template as a means for students to record their process, which was then used to generate their story using any Adobe tool.  The students and instructor collaboratively developed the “container” for those accounts also using an Adobe tool with the intent to create exemplars for future students and instructors to help them envision the process.

Aubrey Uresti, Department of Counselor Education

Title: The Digital Researcher Notebook: Engaging Student Voice and Increasing Digital Literacy

As students begin to develop as researchers, skills in effective organization, detailed notetaking, and clear communication are vital. Combining traditional tenets of qualitative research with a modern platform like Adobe Express can not only increase digital literacy but also support authentic expression. This presentation highlights the digital researcher notebooks (i.e., Adobe Learning Journal) used by pre-service school counselors to record their ethnographic observation notes in writing, photos, and videos.
