General Education Advising 

For general education advising, explore the Engineering Student Success Center to see all of the advising services available for Lower-Division Undergraduate students.

Major Advisor

Upper-Division students need to contact Professor Juzi Zhao & email address: [email protected] or Professor Robert Morelos-zaragoza & email address: [email protected] for department approvals of all forms, petitions, etc. as well as other academic issues.

Undergraduate Advisor

Upper-Division students need to contact Prof. Morelos-Zaragoza or Prof. Juzi Zhao for removal of major advising holds as well as advising in scheduling and choosing technical electives.

Major Advising Hold

Each semester, a Major Advising Hold is placed on student accounts to prevent them from registering for classes.  For Lower-Division students, see any advisor at the Engineering Student Success Center to remove this hold.  Upper-Division students need to contact Prof. Morelos-Zaragoza, Email Address: [email protected] OR Prof. Juzi Zhao, Email Address: [email protected] OR make appointment for removal of major advising holds. 

Technical Elective Requirements

Students are required to take 12 units of upper-division EE technical electives. Students can take one three-unit upper-division course from other departments OR one three-unit EE graduate-level course as an elective with pre-approval from the Major Advisor (Prof. Juzi Zhao: [email protected] OR Prof. Robert Morelos-zaragoza: [email protected])

ENGR 100W

Students must complete ENGR 100W with a grade of “C” or better before enrolling in EE 198A. Note that ENGR 100W may not be waived based on Written Skills Test (WST) scores.
