Register for Open University
Follow these important steps to register for Open University.

1. Identify your student status
Your student status determines how you will register for Open University. Identify your student status to understand your registration process and other additional requirements.
First-time students with no SJSU ID
First time Open University students that do not have a SJSU ID register by submitting
a DocuSign Registration form.
First-time students with SJSU ID (Previously applied for admission or attended SJSU)
First time Open University students with a SJSU ID register by logging into MySJSU.
Recently Disqualified Spring 2026
As your first Open University semester, the Office of Registrar will set up your account. Please refer to your DQ email from the Office of Registrar for more details. You will have to wait until you have received an email from the Office of Registrar before you can start enrolling in classes.
Returning students without enrollment in the past year
Returning Open University students that have not been enrolled in the past year register
by submitting a DocuSign Registration form.
Returning students with SJSU ID, recent enrollment within the past year
Returning Open University students that have recently been enrolled in the past year
must activate their MySJSU account in order to register through MySJSU. After activating
your account, you can enroll in your class starting from the first day of the registration.
Even when you skip a row, you want to go off by the number indicated in the heading column when you are setting a specific panel to open on load.
2. Fill out your Application
